The Sill Screed is installed at the plate line, stem wall, or where the wall meets the foundation. First, it helps drain trapped moisture and protects the stucco finish from damage. In addition, it creates a durable edge at the base of exterior walls. As a result, moisture can migrate downward and drain away from the wall. Therefore, the stucco system maintains proper drainage and clean, professional lines.
Trim-tex recommends following industry-standard installation methods. All butt joints, intersections, and ends should be caulked with elastomeric sealant during installation. When painting Trim-tex products, please contact us for more information on painting resources to ensure proper performance and prevent product defects such as warping, oil cracking, and buckling.
