Metacaulk® Intumescent Putty Pads are a moldable, non-curing, one-component fire-rated material for through-penetration firestop systems. Therefore, when heated, Metacaulk® Putty Pads will expand, forming an insulating char.
In the event of a fire, Putty Pads will prevent the spread of flames, smoke, gas, and water through penetration openings. Putty Pads are applied by hand and mixing is never required and no special skills are necessary for installation.
Metacaulk® Putty Pads are rated for up to 3 hours in accordance with the ASTM E 814. UL 1479 and ULC/CAM4-S115M test standards.

Putty Pads Features
- It is for interior use and does not contain Volatile Solvents, which makes it useful when installed in confined spaces or occupied areas. It does not contain Asbestos Fillers. The DOT Classification is Not Regulated.
- Applied by hand and Easy to install- Mixing is never required, and no special skills or additives are necessary for installation. Adheres to all ordinary building common surface
- The pads are rated for up to 3 hours in accordance with the ASTM E 814, UL 1479, and ULC/CAN4-S115-M test standards. They have a Sound Transmission Class (STC) Rating of 60. Only one pad thickness (1/8″) is needed for a 1-2hr Fire rating.
- No additional putty material is needed to plug the end of each electrical metallic tube or conduit as its connection to the box.
- Required by Building Codes in rated partitions where horizontal separation of opposite-facing electrical boxes is under 24 inches
