The Karp Access Door DSB-214SM is a surface-mounted, universal, flush-access door that does not require framing, bracing, or notching or cutting of inner-wall obstructions. The frame’s single-piece construction prevents racking and allows the access door to sit flush within the frame and open to 175 degrees. DSB-214SM Access Door Specifications

• Door: On door sizes of 12″ x 12″ and smaller, the door and frame shall be 16-gauge steel (or, if specified, stainless steel). On larger sizes, the door and frame shall be 14-gauge steel (or, if specified, stainless steel).
• Trim:  Trim shall be one piece of construction.
• Hinge: Exposed continuous piano hinge.
• Locks: They shall be flush-mounted, screwdriver-operated, with stainless steel cams and studs, or key-operated with a cylinder lock and an automatic dust shutter.
• Finish: Prime coat of rust-inhibitive electrostatic powder, baked enamel.

DSB-214SM Access Door Options

• Type 304 stainless steel is well-suited for exterior weather exposure or interior hygienic environments—for example, hospitals, healthcare facilities, pharmaceutical plants, research laboratories, and food processing facilities. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant and durable, requiring very little maintenance. Karp’s stainless steel access doors have a No. 4 satin finish, a general-purpose bright finish with a visible ‘grain” that prevents mirror reflection.
• Aluminum is ideal for installations or environments that require a strong, lightweight, rust-resistant access door.
• Plexiglass vision panel provides durable, long-lasting, and convenient viewing access to wall or ceiling contents.
• Louvers may be integrated into the door design to satisfy architectural and ventilation requirements.
• Removable doors allow for unobstructed access to wall or ceiling contents.

DSB-214SM Access Door Locking and Latching Options

• The spanner head is an economical tamper-proof latching solution.
• The Allen Head Security Latch is an economical, tamper-resistant latching mechanism that discourages theft, vandalism, and unauthorized entry because it cannot be opened without an Allen wrench.
• The Knob Turn is finger-operated and useful when tools are unavailable or undesirable for opening and closing the access door.
• A flush-mounted, keyless Paddle Latch has a finger pull for opening.
• The T-Handle Latch with 90° turn is available with or without a keyed-alike cylinder lock.
• The economical cylinder locking device provides keyed access from the outside of the door.
