The Control Joint (PL093) is a flexible control joint used in wall and ceiling design to control movement. It has removable tape to protect the “V” groove during installation. The flanges have holes to ensure a positive bond of drywall mud to the board’s surface. It also has built-in 1/l6″ (2 mm) stops to ensure proper drywall thickness. Flanges are placed on top of two separated sheets of sheathing with a “groove between separated boards.
Plastic Component has designed these products specifically for direct applied finish (DEFS) systems to protect and ensure straight corners. These products include casing beads for raw cut edges and wide flange “beads for adjusting to uneven cut boards. It also includes starter tracks that eliminate the need for expensive back wrapping, control joints to relieve movement, vents that enhance airflow in soffit areas, and decorative reveals just for good looks.
Field-engineered to save time and provide integrity to the direct-applied finish system, Plastic Components manufactures them with exterior-grade, lead-free PVC material conforming to ASTM standard D1784.
