The StiffClip® TD Uplift Tie Down series by The Steel Network has a unique design. It enables anchoring steel studs to the foundation. A .75″ steel stiffening plate provides added strength. StiffClip® TD resists vertical uplift loads, effectively solving wall stud tie-downs or serving as the anchorage component in conventional strap/gusset-plate shear wall construction.
The allowable design-load table bases its values on StiffClip® TD, which attaches to steel stud wall thicknesses and yield strengths. Allowable loads consider loads on the clip and screw fasteners to the stud web.
Pre-drilled holes for attachments to both the deck and the stud increase the installers’ efficiency.
Base materials (e.g., steel or concrete) and the design configuration determine how StiffClip® TD Uplift Tie Down is attached to the primary structure.
