The Sentinel Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguisher contains liquid carbon dioxide under pressure. Carbon dioxide is a trusted non-conductive clean agent more effective for dealing with electronic equipment fires. This fire extinguisher is typically found in offices, classrooms, retail, and research facilities.
It is also available in an MR-conditional non-magnetic fire extinguisher for MRI Rooms.
- Sentinel Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguisher is available in 5 lb., 10 lb., 15 lb., and 20 lb.
- Sentinel Non-Magnetic, MR-Conditional Fire Extinguisher is available in 5 lb.
- Fights Class B (Flammable Liquids and Gases) and Class C (Electrical Conductivity) fires.
Sentinel Carbon Dioxide Fire Extinguisher Specifications
- Confirms to Test Standards: Â CAN/ULC-S503, ANSI/UL154 & CAN/ULC-S508-ANSI/UL711. Non-magnographic extinguishers were also tested on 11.7 Tesla or less.
- Operation: Squeeze the lever, which opens the valve, forcing out the carbon dioxide. The discharge, which changes into a gas and appears as a smothering cloud of white snow, is then directed to the fire through a funnel-shaped horn. It is electrically non-conductive.
- Temperature Range: -22° F (-30° C) to 120° F (49° C)
- Construction: Lightweight, high-pressure, aluminum cylinder with O-ring seal and straight thread brass valve fits all sizes. The Sentinel is rust-free and up to 30% lighter than CO2 units with steel cylinders.
- Construction Non-Magnetic: Lightweight, high-pressure, aluminum cylinder with O-ring seal and straight thread chrome-plated brass valve. The Sentinel is rust-free and up to 30% lighter than CO2 units with steel cylinders.
- Note: One standard bracket (J-Hook) comes with each fire extinguisher.

Fire Class Information
Class of Fire
A Fire | Paper, Wood, Cloth, Etc.: Where quenching by water or insulating by dry chemicals is effective. |
B Fire | Flammable liquids: Where smothering actions are required. |
C Fire | Live electrical equipment: Where the non-conductivity of extinguishment is vital. |
K Fire | Effective in suppressing high-temperature fires involving oils and grease, often found in commercial restaurant kitchens. Call for more information. |
