Karp RDW Access Door is a recessed access door with a drywall bead. The face of the door on the RDW Recessed Karp Access Door for Drywall Surfaces is recessed to receive a panel of drywall, providing a drywall finish that matches the texture of the surrounding drywall.

The access door frame includes a drywall bead to which drywall cement is applied to conceal the flange.

Karp also makes a version of this door where the drywall panel is factory-installed. Model RDWPD.

RDW Access Door Specifications

• Door Frame: 14 gauge steel, and doors are 16 gauge steel.
• Door: Recessed 5/8 inch
• Trim: Galvanized steel drywall bead.
• Hinge: Concealed pivoting rod type.
• Locks: Flush and screwdriver operated with stainless steel cam and studs or a key-operated cylinder lock with automatic dust shutter.
• Finish: Prime coat of rust inhibitive electrostatic.

RDW Access Door Options:

• A cylinder locking device provides keyed access from the outside of the door. The night latch also has a small thumb latch that allows the spring latch to remain in a retracted position, which provides access at any time.
• This economical cylinder locking device provides keyed access from the outside of the door.
• Type 304 stainless steel is well-suited for exterior weather or interior hygienic locations such as hospitals, health care, pharmaceutical plants, research laboratories, and food processing facilities. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, durable, and requires very little maintenance. Karp’s stainless steel access doors have a No. 4 satin finish, a general-purpose bright finish with a visible ‘grain” that prevents mirror reflection.
• Removable doors allow for unobstructed access to wall or ceiling contents.
• Karp can manufacture any size access door in a double-leaf style to facilitate access and reduce door load.
• A 1/16″ x 3/8″ neoprene gasket can be added to the door, providing a tighter seal between the door and the door frame and protecting it from exposure to outside elements.
