Karp MX “Insulated” Gasketed Exterior Access Door is engineered to withstand years of exposure to severe outdoor elements. This high-quality, galvanized steel access door comes with a galvanized hinge. Combining these components with Karp’s electrostatic rust-inhibitive powder finish provides two durable protective layers.

To further weatherproof the MX Insulated Exterior Access Door, Karp arc-welds and grounds smooth the corners of the trim and pan. This, combined with a closed-cell neoprene gasket and a lift-and-turn compression latch, ensures a watertight seal between the access door and frame.

Finally, the access door includes Styrofoam insulation, offering exceptional water and water vapor resistance. These protective measures guarantee the MX Insulated Access Door’s long-term performance even in the most severe moisture conditions.

MX Access Door Specifications

• Frame: 18 gauge steel.
• Door: 18 gauge galvanized steel. It is a welded, watertight pan.
• Trim: Corners of trim are welded & ground smooth.
• Insulation: 1″ thick polystyrene w/ 5.0 R-value@75°F temperature.
• Hinge: Continuous stainless steel piano hinge.
• Gasketing: Gasketing between door and frame 3/8″ wide by 1/8″ thick closed cell neoprene gasket.
• Locks / Latches: The latches are Southco Lift & Turn compression latch/ lock, including a cup sealing gasket finished in textured chrome. Keys included
• Finish: Prime coat of rust-inhibitive electrostatic powder, baked enamel
• Finish Option: Type 304 stainless steel is well-suited for exterior weather or interior hygienic locations such as hospitals, health care, pharmaceutical plants, research laboratories, and food processing facilities. Stainless steel is corrosion-resistant, durable, and requires very little maintenance. Karp’s stainless steel access doors have a No. 4 satin finish, a general-purpose bright finish with a visible ‘grain” that prevents mirror reflection.
