The Karp KFD-HD—A Heavy Duty Karp Floor Door—provides a sturdy floor door for access under any concrete application. The KFD-HD Access Door is a heavy-duty (H20 loading) floor access door. All the hardware on the floor door shall be grade 316 Stainless Steel.

The access floor door can be made watertight, spring-assisted, and equipped with a stainless steel snap lock when required.

The door will be furnished with a peel-off protective cover to protect it from concrete splatters during installation. The underside of the lid will also have visibility tape for safety.

KFD-HD Floor Door Specifications

• Door Frame: 1/4″ extruded aluminum channel-type frame with a 1/8″ neoprene cushion, continuous anchor flange, and a 1-1/2″ drain coupling welded to the underside.
• Hinges: Hinges and all hardware shall be stainless steel and attached with tamperproof fasteners
• Door Lid:  1/4″ aluminum diamond plate designed to support an H2O loading (without impact) with a maximum deflection of 1/150th. The door shall open to 90 degrees and automatically lock in that position.
• Finish: Mill finish, with a bituminous coating applied to the exterior of the frame to prevent hydrolysis with concrete.
• Lock: Doors shall be equipped with a stainless steel slam lock with a cover plug and removable handle
• Lock / Latch Options: The door can be equipped with a staple, staple, and hasp, recessed hasp, stainless steel snap, and brass pentahead.
• Options: Skirting to a depth of the slab, fiberglass insulation, safety chains, and posts.
