The FD3 Series Access Door is the largest net-size opening available in a three-hour fire-rated single-leaf panel for installation in walls or ceilings when the temperature rises and heat transmission is controlled. Insulated panels are ideal for installation in these applications.

Sizes for ceiling installation are up to 36″ x 36″ and may be installed in walls up to 48″ x 60″. This is ideal when the installation or removal of equipment is a consideration.

The FD3 Series Access Door Specifications

• Materials: Satin finish galvannealed steel or 304 stainless steel.
• Frame: 16 gauge steel up to and including 30″ x 48″ or 14 gauge steel for larger sizes.
• Flange: Width -7/8″ up to and including 36″ x 36″. 1-1/4″ for larger sizes
• Door Panel: 18 gauge galvannealed steel with 22 gauge liner.
• Insulation: The door panel contains 2-1/2″ high-temperature insulation material.
• Finishes: Rust-inhibitive off-white prime coat or #4 stainless steel finish on the exterior surface
• Hinges: the concealed continuous rod hinge is designed to secure the door panel. The hinge is placed on the long side of the door (” H”) dimension) unless otherwise requested. Note that the continuous piano hinge is standard for Sizes greater than 48″ in a wall position.
• Panel Closer: The automatic panel closer will close and latch the door from an open position of 90° as required by NFPA  80.
• Latch: The standard factory-installed latch is a flush mount 1/4″ allen key. All fire-rated locks are self-latching and include an interior latch release mechanism that allows the doors to be opened from the inside for sizes 16″ x 16″ and larger. An interior latch for smaller sizes is an option.
• Wall Sizes: Minimum 12″ x 12″, Maximum 48″ x 60″
• Ceiling Sizes: Sizes up to 24″ x 36″ see the FD Series, select the FD2 Series for larger sizes up to 36″ x 36″
