The Steel Network (TSN) VertiClip® SLB Slab Bypass Clip (Slide Angle Bypass, Exterior Slab Bypass) is a light-gauge cold-formed steel framing connector that connects exterior curtain wall studs, bypassing the building slab while allowing for vertical deflection of the structure up to 2″ (1″ up and 1″ down).
VertiClip® SLB’s unique design creates an anti-friction, anti-seizure connection between the clip and the stud web surface. It prevents vertical forces from transferring into curtain wall framing that cannot support axial loads. VertiClip® SLB eliminates flange-loaded, friction-fit clips, which do not address web-crippling. Allowable loads are based on the use of two #12 screws for attachment to the stud (provided by TSN)
VertiClip® SLB is classified by multiplying stud depth by 100.
Example: 6″ stud = VertiClip® SLB600.
VertiClip® SLB600 and SLB800 feature three slots to improve efficiency with construction tolerances, and the third screw and step bushing are not required unless specified.
